The Cannonball House offers special events and exhibits throughout the year.  2009 special exhibits include Antique Toys and Dolls in May and Jefferson Davis in Georgia in October. The Art of Nineteenth Century Living series features various aspects of practical life or fine arts of the period, with a different theme explored one day each month. Upcoming programs include the following:

Saturday, August 15, 2009- Back to School, 19th Century Style. The "school master" and his "students" will demonstrate what school was like for children in the mid-1800's. The lunch pail will be filled with delicacies to eat!

Friday, September 11, 2009- 19th Century Domestic Life Through the Eyes of House Servants . The house servants who worked at the home now known as the Cannonball House made a significant contribution to the family. See and listen as historians clothed in period attire tell their story. ·

Saturday, October 10, 2009- Tricks and Treats. Enjoy a hands-on experience to harvest and "All Saint's Day" traditions carried over from many generations in the past.

Saturday, November 21, 2009- Harvest Hoedown. Learn the Virginia Reel and other period dances in a lively musical harvest celebration.

Saturday, December 19, 2009- 19th Century Christmas. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmases long ago.
