Great Great Granddaughter of William and Ellen Craft
Julia is the descendant of Willim and Ellen Craft who made history when they escaped to freedom from the life of slavery in Macon, GA in December 1848. Come hear the harrowing details of their escape that took them many thousands of miles and to several different countries. After living in England for nearly two decades they returned to the United States. They wrote a book titled “Running A Thousand Miles For Freedom” that documented their lives. (copies available in the Cannonball House gift shop). Theirs is a story of faith, initiative and love. Come hear Julia Ellen Craft Davis, researcher and educator, share their story.
