Come listen as Ms. Persley shares her research of her family’s heritage. She first discovered her family’s significant Black historical legacy on her first visit to Macon’s Washington Memorial Library in 1995. She learned that her Grand Uncle Louis Persley is the state of Georgia’s first registered Black architect and founded the nationn’s first Black architecture firm “Taylor and Persley” with his business partner Robert Taylor of Tuskegee Alabama.
